Moises Now Available in the MusicFirst Classroom
MusicFirst is proud to announce that the AI-powered platform Moises, now fully integrated into the MusicFirst Classroom, is available at an exclusive introductory rate of $3 per student through March 31, 2026. After that date the price will move to $4 per student—still dramatically lower than the consumer retail annual rate of $39.99. From a personal standpoint, I am SO happy that we’ve made this happen. I am HUGE fan of this product and have been highlighting it as part of all my talks on generative AI over the past two years. I first met the folks from Moises at the APME Conference in Memphis, TN this past summer, and we’ve been working together to make this happen ever since. This is the first time that Moises has offered EDU pricing for the K-12 music education market, and I am thrilled that we are finally ready to bring it to music teachers around the world.
So what is Moises, and why have we added it to the MusicFirst Classroom? Moises is designed specifically to support music teachers and their students by making cutting-edge, studio-quality tools available in a browser-based environment. It runs on tablets, Chromebooks, desktops and mobile devices—so there’s no complex setup or external app required. Because it’s built into the MusicFirst Classroom, educators can implement it seamlessly, with full control over student access, assignments, and data protection.
Here are a few things that you can do with Moises in your music classroom:
Stem separation: Students can upload or import any song, then isolate, mute or solo vocals, drums, bass, guitars and other parts. This enables targeted practice for individuals, sectionals, and ensemble rehearsals.
Music-minus-one / backing tracks: Teachers can create custom tracks where a specific instrument or voice is removed and the student steps into that part.
Flexible transposition and tempo control: Repertoire can be adapted to meet students where they are - adjust keys and tempo without compromising musicality.
AI Studio: Beyond practice and performance, Moises offers generative tools that support composition, arrangement and production. Students can start with a riff, melody or chord progression and let the AI generate drums, bass, keys, guitars and more - and then mix and master - all within the browser.
Export capability: Educators and students can export stems or mixes into other platforms - such as YuStudio, Soundtrap, or any DAW for further arranging or production work.
In classroom settings, Moises has some pretty cool and practical uses. In a band or orchestra rehearsal, for example, a director can isolate a trumpet line from a jazz chart, mute it entirely, and give a single student the opportunity to play the part in real time while the full ensemble continues around them—an experience that traditionally would require expensive software or a dedicated recording engineer. Choir directors and general music teachers can take advantage of the same technology by creating custom backing tracks that either remove or emphasize specific vocal lines, giving students the freedom to practice independently, sing along with confidence, and submit polished recordings directly through the MusicFirst Classroom.
The possibilities expand even further in modern band, music technology, and production courses. Using the built-in AI Studio, students can generate original grooves, chord progressions, and arrangements that they can analyze, rearrange, or remix. This creates a powerful feedback loop between listening, creation, and performance - one that mirrors the workflow of professional producers and fosters deep musical understanding.
Perhaps one of the most transformative aspects of Moises is its ability to support differentiated instruction at scale. Teachers can assign customized stems, keys, or tempos to individual students or groups, allowing everyone to work at an appropriate challenge level while still engaging with the same core material. The result is a classroom where every learner, regardless of background or ability, can participate fully, confidently, and creatively.
This special price ($3 per user/year) is available now through March 31. After that date, pricing will be $4 per user/year within MusicFirst Classroom. It’s important to note that Moises ca only be added to existing MusicFirst Classroom implementations at that price. For all new customers, that price will be $4/seat - still a fraction of the retail price. Interested educators and administrators should contact their MusicFirst account representative to add Moises to their MusicFirst subscription, or sign up for a FREE 30-day trial.
