MusicFirst & Sweetwater: A Perfect Way for Students to Get Started Learning an Instrument

We are very proud to announce a new partnership with our good friends over at Sweetwater to provide free access to our world-class resources to all students who rent instruments through their incredible rental program for schools. Alongside other online music education platforms including MusicProfessor and Forte, MusicFirst is offering free access to a unique set of resources, curated by our team of music educators, to help students get started on the journey of learning a new instrument. Here’s how it works:

Once a student rents an instrument from Sweetwater, they are provided an impressive set of resources, including quick start and instrument care guides, as well as the opportunity to sign up for free access to a carefully curated set of online resources, including MusicFirst and PracticeFirst powered by MatchMySound. The MusicFirst Content Team have created brand new online courses just for Sweetwater rental customers. We have called these self-paced, media-rich courses First Steps for Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, etc.

These courses all contain a wide variety of self-paces instructional materials, perfect for students learning a new instrument including:

  • Instrument Set Up Guide

  • Instrument Care Guide

  • Fingering Charts

  • Online Tuner & Metronome

  • Videos of Professional Musicians playing that instrument, including content from MusicProfessor

  • Access to Habits of a Successful Beginning Band & String Musician Lessons and Exercises

  • Instant feedback on essential music skills, including pitch, rhythm, intonation, and note duration

We believe very strongly that what we have put together with our good friends at Sweetwater will set up any student who is learning a new instrument up for long term success.
